Since ancient times, man has always sought a rational explanation for everything that happens around him, so as through science and the scientific method has created laws that explain the occurrence of certain events. But sometimes, when we could not explain or predict anything through science, he had to turn to magic and supernatural thoughts to predict a fact that was about to happen, which were created over the years what we know today as omens.
Although its origin is unknown, these have become in strongly beliefs in the world, which are deeply rooted, ancient Rome became in one of the places where fortune-teller based on omens was much practiced, and even there were priests who officially dedicated in this form of divination, they were called augurs.
The omens are auguries that indicate that something is about to change or happen in the future; they’re based on the occurrence of some event or signal. Being among the best known: Signals from the sky like lightning and comets; behavior of animals and birds like the flight of owls, crows, bats, among others; and rare or unusual situations as itching in the head or hands.
From these signals, bad and good omens have been predicted, so find out some of the most common:
- Ringing in the ears, announces that someone else is talking about us, if the buzz is in the right ear to someone does for good, if we feel it in the left ear is for bad.
- If an owl lands on the roof of a house or flies near this, is said that is announcing the death of someone in the household and you have to curse them to counter that conclusion.
- If people have itching in the palm of their right hand, is said that will receive money, but if it’s on the left hand then must pay a debt or they’ll lose money.
- If you see a bat flying at sunset is because everything will be fine, however if we see the bat flying toward us is because someone is throwing us a spell.
- If you see a circle around the moon it is because winter season approaches.
- If a knife is dropped on the floor, is said that we’ll receive a visit from a man, but a fork falls will be a woman.
Even the result can just be a coincidence, the omens will always accompany us as part of our beliefs. However, there’s no evidence to validate them after the result of an accidental event, so each one of us can make a difference having a positive mind because as long as we can remove negative thoughts, we get everything we aim in life, the important thing is not predispose.
