Nordic mythology are stories or beliefs originating from ancient northern Germanic peoples and it is not shared with any other nearby region. Each of the Nordic legends as well as their gods has endured through centuries. They are stories where there are powerful gods, which have even been an inspiration to book writers and movie makers. Odin. He was known as the father of everything, he could revive, become an animal, prophesy. He traveled with different appearances, accompanied by two crows that kept him informed of everything around and far away. He was the most powerful god of all.

Thor. He is known for his imposing hammer. He was the strongest among all the gods, known as the god of thunder, war and protector of youth. His passion was to destroy giants so that almost all his stories involved these beings, as in the legend of the robbery of the hammer. Thor died after the battle he had with the Midgard.

Heimdall, is a lonely god who watches from the height of his palace that no giant approaches the city of the gods. He rests very little, hears the slightest noise and has a view that can reach more than a hundred miles. The legend of his birth tells that he was conceived by nine maidens daughters of the god of the oceans. He is a god of goodness, wisdom and creator of the order of the entire universe, he is who helped each of the gods in their deeds.

Hel. The daughter of Loki, goddess of darkness and death. Half human she was the most chaotic maiden of his brothers, from her face went out the evil. Her powers were given by Odin and she was in charge of tormenting anyone who was a coward. She owns her own kingdom in barren, dark and cold lands where she receives those who do not die in battle.

Balder. The most beloved god of all due to his generosity, kindness and beautiful beauty, the most beloved among Thor’s brothers and worshiped by humans. He had great gifts of wisdom, however, because he was the most exalted, Loki was the guilty for his death for hating him.

Frigg. She was the beautiful goddess of love, fertility, of heaven and prophecy like her husband Odin. Sif. The goddess of fidelity, economic prosperity, business, and is Thor’s wife. She is the representative of the abundance of treasures on earth, she is responsible for discovering where there is wealth to beautify the world, she had beautiful golden hair, not matched in beauty.

Each of these gods has incredible stories and feats that for the northern Germanic people are the cause of the origin of what we know of the world today.
