Know your partner’s personality, by making him scribbling! The evidences that you are about to have, are what make the psychologists to people they want to know in depth. Give your partner a sheet of white paper, a pencil, and an eraser. Ask him to draw a tree. Do not distract him, ask him to notify you when he finished. Then take the sheet, and see the results.
If his drawing has a size between ten or twelve centimeters it is because he has emotional balance. If it is too large, he is a person full of fantasy, a bit egocentric and selfish, has troubles at decision making. Being small, he is docile and eager. His level of energy is low. If his strokes are strong, it means that is energetic and fearless. If are soft, he is insecure and fragile. Irregular lines mean that he find hard relating to others.
The trunk of the tree symbolizes the strength of the person. If it is wide, your partner is looking to reassert his personality. If it is small, he is weak; he needs support. Conversely if it has knots or cracks, he has an emotional trauma. According to the place where the knot or injured, we know at what point in his life he suffered. The highest part of trunk is the present.
The lines of the branches will tell you what happens to his feelings and if there is a personal balance. Being weak, he is nervous and does not like changes. If the branches are wide with small logs, he needs satisfaction. Tall and narrow: afraid to find joy in the outside, he looks for it in fantasy. If the lines move from wide to thin, he fits to everything around him. Cut branches like arms: he feels lonely in this world.
If you draw fruits like apples or oranges, it means he’s a little immature, but creative. If the roots are marked, it is because he finds hard touching the reality, and if the roots are shown through on the floor, it is that he is altering his sense of reality. If he takes the border of the paper as a base, he needs support.
A small tree symbolizes cup is very mature; a big, means he is fanciful. If the lines are curved, he is supportive and loving. If the lines are spiral or curly, he knows how to fit, and is enthusiastic. To be fragmented, means that he can manipulate others. It is not necessary that your partner puts color to the drawing. You should also analyze the position of the figure:
Center: he knows what his goals are.
Right side: negative.
Left: introvert. He does not like to be criticized.
Above: unsafe.
Below: suspicious.
