Stress and lack of time often leads us to neglect physical activity. However, yoga, ancient discipline from India, offers one of the best systems of comprehensive care that exists, it will not take much time and will provide great benefits to your health. Through simple breathing exercises, which will only take a few minutes, it will allow you to relax before or after your daily task, without getting out of bed.

The word yoga comes from Sanskrit and means union; union of mind, body and spirit. For some it is a discipline, a philosophy, but for others it is a way of life. This comes from the Hindu culture, one of the most complex in the world. There are texts that date back thousands of years, where it was already talked about the practices of meditation, breathing, the transcendence of the self, among others. Currently, there are more than 100 branches of the yoga tree, among which are known “hatha”, “kundalini”, “bikram”, “bhakti”, among many others.

Yoga is an activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and physical condition. Well, almost always, it is a relaxation therapy for the body and the mind; a great advantage over other disciplines. This time we offer some positions that you can perform from the comfort of your bed to start or end your day in a different way.

For the deep meditation posture, sit cross-legged in your bed, concentrate on your breathing and try to clear your mind to release that weight. Also, you can practice the position of the sleeping goddess that consists of lying on her back, bending the knees, pressing the soles of the feet and simply letting her legs hang on both sides; you concentrate and breathe several times.

The next posture is spinal torsion. To do it, you should only sit with your legs straight, your feet flexed and your back straight. Bring the left leg, bent, over the right leg that is still stretched and bring the left thigh as close to your abdomen as possible and breathe.

Another posture is what is called legs on the wall, it can be done with or without support. This position is special for meditating. You should start by sitting on your bed facing the wall, then lie down and spread your legs up on the wall. Let your arms rest at your sides, palms up and breathe gently.

Finally, yoga as a lifestyle can only bring you positive benefits, a few minutes, simple exercises and focus on breathing, an act that we do in a natural and automatic way that can provide the necessary calm to deal with the stress of everyday life, filling it with harmony and energy.
