Zanzibar, the island paradise with white sand beaches, it is definitely one of the most visited destinations in Tanzania, in the east of the African continent located at 36 kilometers from its coast with the Indian Ocean. This island, that makes an archipelago as well, is a strong attractive for the tourists who after making safari trips around Kenya, decide to end their trip on these beautiful pearled coasts.

Nungwi

The zones bordering the village of Nungwi by its beaches at the north of the island, are a perfect destination for the trekkers and independent travelers due to the concentration of inns and hotels with average and low prices, in addition to the bars with a very active night life and sea activities that are offered in the zone, besides the beautiful view that the boats of the village produce when the tides go back, making a beautiful and colorful spectacle to see.

The South Coast

Here there are the most expensive hotels of the archipelago, located in a zone of small and beautiful reef cliffs that share the space with leafy mangrove swamps in one of the busiest areas of Zanzibar as regards tourism, but in which the sea can go back several kilometers during the low tide, the reason why most of the hotels in the zone offer private pools to the travelers who stay in them.

Stone Town

Stone Town is the ancient part of Zanzibar, known for being the place where Freddie Mercury was born and the capital of the archipelago as the economic and cultural center of the region. It was declared as World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2000, and it lies on a triangular peninsula to the west of the island, which is made up with 96 hectares of wide narrow streets, small squares and houses made of stone that with the hundreds of handcrafted stalls, will make a festival of textures and smells because of their spices, for all travelers that visit it.

Pemba Island

About the size, it is the second of the archipelago and you can get there only by ferry or plane, being the perfect destination if you want to be disconnected a bit since there are no more than six hotels and a few infrastructures, for which scuba diving and fishing lovers will love this heavenly place.

 

Due to this, Zanzibar is considered as one of the best destinations in the west of Africa, for succeeding in having in a beautiful archipelago with white sand and turquoise water, a large conglomeration of touristic, cultural and natural attractions that any real adventurer will love instantly.
